Thank you for this post. I have been thinking about some of what I learned in an AP American History course shortly after I arrived in the US. I thought the teacher was odd. She didn’t like or dislike me, she just didn’t notice me. And I remember the spin she put on slavery and John Brown…funny how these things stood out because they created cognitive dissonance. I am trying to educate my daughters about white people who fought/fight racism because these stories of resistance are not taught.
Resistance stories are not taught because if you know resistance is possible, it makes revolution achievable.
