Van T. Barfoot (Choctaw), the most highly-decorated U.S. veteran, has passed away.  He was 92. Story here.

  1. Not sure where to share this but here’s another important hero who has passed: Lanier Phillips, 88 (two days short of his 89th birthday) lone black survivor of the Pollux and Truxton maritime disaster, civil rights activist, and career naval officer
