Generally speaking

I’d assume Asians who read English-language media understand English. But here’s the Tribune’s suggestion for Miley Cyrus’ apology card. It reads “dui bu qi” (excuse me) in Chinese. Because you know that all Asians are Chinese, and none of them speak English.

  1. you know, i really hate that it seems just plain impossible for white folks (and i’m white) to just say “I was wrong. I’m sorry.” Even to just make that single admission seems far FAR too much to ask. It makes me cringe.

  2. Another example of sheer stupidity. Disney needs to drop miley cyrus, but then again, Disney has always had a poor history when it comes to racial sensitivity, not to mention gender equality.
