there was an amazing exhibit at the renwick gallery (part of the smithsonian, dedicated to crafts) here in dc recently, all of art from the internment camps. i cried most of the way through it. gaman, indeed.
I believe this is the same exhibit, although it seems to be smaller than when it was at the Smithsonian.
Wow, this art is beautiful. At first I thought ‘Gaman’ was the name of an artist. Then I found it this was made in the camps, which somehow made it even more poignant. Thanks for sharing.
