Excellent read. It’s heartening to know about these efforts and the recognition around it. Language is a reflection of the psychology (and soul?) of a culture.
Fascinating. “Language is identity” – absolutely. Though the article was ostensibly about ‘preserving’ languages, I liked that that message was quite clear. ‘Assimilation’ is impossible; all that happens is you no longer know who you are.
